UK academic Nitasha Kaul, an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder, was deported from Bengaluru airport due to her consistent 'pro-separatist comments' and 'anti-India' stance on Kashmir. Kaul was invited by the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka to participate in the Constitution and National Unity Convention-2024. However, she was denied entry by immigration authorities and sent back to the UK based on orders from Delhi.
